October 1st, 2020

In this most unique time in history, we hope that this message finds you staying safe and healthy!  We wanted to communicate to all of you our plans for the upcoming basketball season.  As most of you are probably aware, the Norwin School District has temporarily restricted use of its facilities to community organizations as part of the District’s Phased School Reopening Health and Safety Plan.  It may become possible to coordinate community facility use at some point, and we will continue to communicate with the District if and when that time arrives.  As such, we will not be able to utilize school facilities for the time being as we normally do for our basketball season, thus THE NBA IN-HOUSE SEASON IS CURRENTLY PAUSED.

Travel Basketball Evaluations
In addition, we are pleased to be able to offer a modified Travel Basketball program this year. Although Travel Basketball will look different than in previous seasons, we have the opportunity to participate in league(s) utilizing community (non-school) facilities outside of the Norwin area.  Tryouts will be held over two days, and interested players must attend a minimum of one tryout session.

Dates:
Sunday, October 18th
Friday, October 23rd
Times:
TBD
Location:
Monroeville Sports Center
855 Macbeth Drive
Monroeville, PA 15146

All boys residing in the Norwin School District in Grades 3 through 8 are eligible to participate in Travel Basketball evaluations. No child will be required to pay a fee for evaluations. You must pre-register for the Travel Basketball evaluations on our website at www.norwinbasketballassociation.com. Please login to your account (or create a new one if you don't have one) and register your child for his appropriate grade.

Travel Basketball is a higher level of play than our In-House program, and includes travel leagues and tournaments.  Teams typically include two evenly split teams in Grades 3 and 4, as well as “A” and “B” teams in Grades 5 through 8. Each team will consist of 7 to 10 players.  There is an extra cost associated with Travel Basketball and this cost will be determined at a later date.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions/concerns at norwinbasketballassociation@gmail.com.  We look forward to continuing with our Mission to advance boys basketball, teach fundamental skills, educate players, and encourage friendship, teamwork and good sportsmanship!

Thank you and see you on the court!
